So we are often asked what kind of printing do we use to print our shirts and what type of ink. Well we custom print everything in house using the latest in Direct To Garment (DTG) digital printing. Our printing process uses genuine Brother Inks & Pre-Treatment is Oeko-Tex standard 100% certified and CPSIA compliant*, reducing environmental waste and ensuring safe printing on baby and youth garments.
Direct to garment printers use process inks in cyan, magenta, yellow and black to generate the colors you send from your computer. These colors allow for the generation of millions of colors. Additionally, DTG direct to garment printers also include white ink which is used as a base on dark garments to allow for the reproduction of this same range of colors on dark textiles.
People always ask us how well do they hold up in the wash compared to traditional screen printing. With the correct care they will last the life of the shirt. Of course there are many other factors that come into play here such as: The quality of the garment, the correct amount of Pre-Treat for dark shirts and of course the pre-treat and ink has to be cured properly. It’s a big process when we have so many orders and needs to be handled perfectly to get the best results.
We have included a video clip to give you an idea of what goes in to printing your shirts here at Fifty5 Clothing.
